Melbourne Bridal Expo

Melbourne Bridal Expo

We spent a busy day at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre last Sunday, manning our stand and talking to so many brides-to-be that we ran out of brochures towards the close of the show! It was a great day and our thanks to everyone who took the time to stop and chat to us and our apologies to those of you whom we didn’t get to talk to – hopefully you were able to collect a brochure or business card. So, this was our display and considering we only had a small space we were pleased with the overall effect. The new bar tables worked well and we can use them at home when we’re not at an...

Ariel and Dale

Ariel and Dale

We had been trying to catch up with Ariel and Dale for some weeks but they’ve always been busy with work, however we managed to see them in Williamstown recently and, after a coffee and chat, we headed over to the harbour for their shoot. The foreshore and park by the pier is very pretty and as the weather was perfect there were crowds of people out enjoying the sun, all of them seemingly hoping to get their photo taken by being in the background of our shots. Fortunately Ariel and Dale didn’t appear to be too distracted by the bystanders and after a slightly nervous start they did really...

Jennifer and Daniel

Jennifer and Daniel

Jennifer and Daniel suggested we meet at a beach during their Christmas holiday for their pre-wedding shoot and, as Brighton is mid-way between us, we suggested the park at North Point. This area has some lovely old trees for when you need shade and a rocky foreshore with views to the city, plus a new jetty where we can take some interesting graphic shots. Two things to be aware of at this park though, the jetty has steel mesh on the walkway and if your subject is wearing high-heels they have to tread very carefully. One bridesmaid recently had to be rescued when her shoe heel became lodged in the steelwork! Secondly, the car park attendants are very keen to give you a parking fine if you dare to leave your car in a boat trailer space. We recently parked in one of these spaces, thinking it was safe as there were no trailers in sight, and that cost us $122! So, having parked carefully and checked that Jennifer was not wearing stilleto heels, we had a great time with both of them and are looking forward to their wedding in less than a month’s...

Tammy and Chris

Tammy and Chris

We met Tammy and Chris at The Rocks in Mornington Harbour and had a chat over a coffee before heading out into the stiff breeze for their pre-wedding shoot. And it was certainly windy when we reached the top of Schnapper Point and continued down to the rocky shoreline. We really like the rugged scenery and managed to get a number of shots but the wind was so strong that it was difficult to hold the cameras still! So we retreated to the leeward side of the Point and, finding that the harbour itself was quite well protected, we were able to complete the shoot in comfort and Chris was able to stand next to Tammy without being covered by her long hair! We must remember to check the wind strength next...
