Kylie & Steve

Kylie & Steve

Kylie and Steve celebrated their wedding at Summerfields Country House last month with a vintage theme.  An old fashioned bike, crates, bunting and jars of flowers all helped to create the atmosphere. Fingers were crossed when the rain started to fall as the guests gathered but with a stroke of luck it stopped just in time for the start of the ceremony. Although it remained overcast it gave us some lovely dramatic skies to work with! In the evening guests were invited to fill out their Wedding Libs forms to offer Kylie and Steve some good advice to start their married life with! After speeches and cake cutting everyone then danced the night away to The Baker Boys. After a couple of days to recover Kylie and Steve flew off to tour around Vietnam for their honeymoon. Here is a selection of images from their special day!    ...

Karen & Justin

Karen & Justin

We first met Karen and Justin at Kelly and Brendan’s wedding and Karen was lucky enough to catch the bouquet! 3 years later Karen and Justin celebrated their wedding at Ashcombe Maze and Norwood House both on the Mornington Peninsula. March certainly threw all sorts of weather at us and our wedding couples. From a very hot day the week before to a very wet day for Karen and Justin’s wedding. Fortunately they were able to have their ceremony outside in the gazebo at Ashcombe Maze and after some family and bridal party shots we had to take cover when the rain started. Unfortunately it didn’t stop, it just became heavier but they braved the rain to have a few shots in front of the hedge and gate which Karen especially wanted. We then headed off to Norwood House for the reception and to take a few more photos around the property until the party started. Ashcombe Maze is a lovely venue and has many different features apart from the maze including woodland, lavender gardens and a lake to name a few. It was just unfortunate that we weren’t able to take advantage of all the settings but we loved the tall trees near the gazebo which we featured in some of the shots. It’s always a good idea to have a Plan B for outdoor weddings as the Melbourne weather can be so unpredictable! We always research a venue and location for a wet weather plan for photos. You don’t always need a lot of space but some interesting features can produce an equally stunning set of images. Despite the rain they laughed their way through the day, Karen had us all in stitches with her speech and they had a fantastic party in the evening. It was still raining as they left but a number of guests were staying at the venue and they all carried on until the small hours! It was also lovely to catch up again with Kelly and Brendan. Here is a selection of images from their day!    ...

Rachelle & Mike

Rachelle & Mike

It was a very hot day over the holiday weekend in March for Rachelle and Mike’s wedding at All Smiles on Sorrento’s ocean beach. A hot day resulted in the beach being packed so we had to find a few quiet spots to shoot their pictures! The evening was warm and balmy so their guests were able to sit outside and watch the waves lap the sand as the sun went down. After sunset their guests were treated to a firework display on the beach! They had an “All You Need Is Love” theme to the wedding and this was also featured on the surf board made by a friend of theirs. Another unusual feature was the bomboniere which were bottles of wine by Shaw and Smith, featuring both their surnames! Everyone danced the night away to the Craig Francis Band complete with Mike’s daughter joining them for a couple of numbers and a guest who just happened to have some bagpipes with him for an ACDC number! We had a great day with them and they enjoyed a couple more days in Sorrento before heading home and they are now looking forward to their US honeymoon later in the year.    ...
