Chloe and Tom

Chloe and Tom

Chloe and Tom were married in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne and we were all watching the skies during the ceremony as showers had been forecast. After the service we just managed to complete our shots as the rain moved in and, along with the bridal party, we hustled over to Docklands where we were due to take a boat to the reception at 3 Station Pier in Port Melbourne. As we took shots of Chloe and Tom in Docklands the sun came out and the wind dropped leaving a beautiful afternoon and we made our way to Port Melbourne aboard the lovely craft you can see in the photos below.  Kim meanwhile chased us around to the reception in the car and arrived just in time to take some shots of the boat arriving. It’s always fun when there is a new element to one of our weddings and now a boat trip is something we can add to our list of...

Velina and John

Velina and John

Whilst Steve was shooting John and his groomsmen at the Park Hyatt in Melbourne, Kim was with Velina at her parents’ home. We all met up for their wedding ceremony at the Church of St Pekta in Mill Park after which the whole bridal party went back to the city for photos. We went down to Docklands and used the amazing Webb Bridge as a backdrop then, after dropping the bridal party back to the Park Hyatt, we took Velina and John on a walk around Collins Street and Parliament House. By this time it was getting dark but we just love shooting at night-time in the city, it’s so atmospheric! Then it was time to head back to the hotel for the reception but we still managed to use some of the great locations within the hotel itself. It would have been a shame not to take advantage of such a regal setting plus we found some great areas with really funky...

Sam and Irosh

Sam and Irosh

With their Sri Lankan wedding planned for the evening at La Mirage in Somerton, we joined Sam, Irosh and their bridal party in the city for an afternoon-long shoot in the city. We had a busy day planned and after starting at their hotel, the lovely old Windsor Hotel in Melbourne, we went shooting at Parliament House, the Treasury and Fitzroy Gardens before heading over to Docklands to play on the Webb Bridge. All of these locations are popular for wedding photos and we had to dodge several other bridal parties as we travelled around the city, creating much amusement for everyone involved! With such a variety of locations we ended up with a superb selection of city, park and waterside shots and fortunately La Mirage was a 30 minute drive away so they all had time to recover on the journey! The day ended with a traditional Buddist Poruwa ceremony which,  for us, was the highlight of the occasion. Here is a selection of shots taken in and around the city, from Fitzroy Gardens to...

Indika and Irosha

Indika and Irosha asked us to meet them in the city for their pre-wedding shoot so we suggested Docklands knowing that there are plenty of funky areas to be found near the Esplanade around the restaurants on the waterfront. Rain had been threatening all morning but we were lucky as it only arrived as we were finishing up. This is a great location for some more edgy shots and the artwork on public display helps, as you’ll see from these...
